The thing was it wasn't really an injury in combat. The way he injured his leg could've happened in any type of athletic action. He could've been running up a hill and lost his step, landed on his leg awkward, and the same thing could've happened

“He was injured in combat”

Not really. The injury wasn’t caused by anything Blaydes did, it was a freak accident from a foot plant. And it was within 15 seconds of the fight starting. Should have been a no contest, because there wasn’t a fight. Just a few strikes thrown and an unfortunate, “self-inflicted”  injury. 

Can’t help but feel most of the “If you think no contest you’re ********” crowd had money on Blaydes and feels personally attacked, as if we’re trying to literally take money from your pocket.

Well I think it should be the same as an eye poke that can't continue. If it is unforced, and it happens past a certain point, then just go to the scorecards, but otherwise, call it a no contest

Imagine how controversial it would be though if we had rulings on whether an injury was caused by fight damage or just purely an accident though. Not saying this one in particular but you would have so many questionable calls. Would be as bad as some of the worst judging debacles we've seen.

Jesus, Derek Brunson was right, MMA fans are bipolar. It was only a month ago you guys were calling Kattar vs Emmett one of the best cards in years, now it’s a bad year for the UFC cause a couple main event injuries happened back to back? 

Maybe it’s not the year that sucks. Maybe it’s the “fans” for having the attention span of a stray dog

I picked aspinall but I still agree with the tko loss, he couldn’t continue, I know it was an injury but these things happen all the time, it was only 15 seconds long which makes me salty as it was barely a fight but it is what it is

I wouldn’t be surprised if the rematch between Pena and Nunes gets ruined by an injury the way things are going, and tbh I won’t even care. Moreno vs Kara France is the peoples main event

Craig vs Oezdemir was odd to say the least
Molly is king
Krylov had a good KO but **** made me depressed
Paddy is a highlight
Hermasson vs Curtis wasn't too bad imo, smart gameplan by Hermasson
Aspinall vs Blaydes was unfortunate as hell

Meh card, Molly, Krylov, Paddy and Pearce should get the POTN, no FOTN

All these people saying it should be a NC are crazy.  It’s unfortunate but the injury didn’t come from a foul so it’s a TKO.  If you snap your ankle the second the bell rings to start the fight it’ll still be a TKO
