Murderous KO but I'm getting tired of extra shots and poor stoppages in MMA. DERRICK, YOU'VE KNOCKED OUT 18 PEOPLE IN THE UFC, I THINK YOU KNOW WHEN THEY'RE OUT ******* COLD.

in HD, it was so much worse. Those gif's don't do that extra shot justice, but got damn I been watching MMA for a while and I think it's a young person's sport now obviously. I heard him moaning, the thing about MMA, go watch a street fight.

Now watch how they sound, grunt, snort, and moan. That's what happens in the cage, except they don't let you normally hear those sounds obviously. It is such a violent sport, and if there weren't doctors, etc, these men would die.

Now when you watch a street fight, obviously there is no ref or anything, but the #1 thing that people hate are sucker punches and extra punches when it comes to street fights.

Just something to think about

Agree.
Call it strange I’ll watch MMA/Boxing etc but I do not like watching NO street fights!
Dunno why that is.

Its Blaydes fault for walking into an uppercut and not defending himself at all times...

Does anyone here train MMA? The experience will help decipher morale, performance and other factors that will determine a fight prediction. I feel I was the only one who predicted Li Jingling to win for example. Same with Derrick Lewis prediction.

Another factor is the weigh ins. That face off is the only moment fighters will get close before the fight. Body language says a lot. Study weigh ins, then watch the fight and then the aftermath. You will be able to make a sound prediction based on your experience.

To take it further, if you have the resources and ability to visit the gyms as a guest and train there, that will give you more knowledge also. The people around them also determine a lot of success factors. Are the coaches cheerleaders or are they correcting their fighters and sharpening them up. Patronizing a fighter just for the goal of morale boost can be misleading to the actual fact at hand. It may even inspire complacency. Look at the Derrick Lewis post fight interview regarding his uppercut win.

I hope this will help everyone with their prediction. A good test to this concept can be the upcoming Tyrone Woodley fight. A veteran with finishing and wrestling ability to face a younger and formable opponent.

@savosnipes that’s a lot of words for someone with under 50% pick rate to expect me to read.

LOL @FistyMcKickerChoke.

Lewis defended himself aptly in his postfight presser. His reference to Blaydes rising like the Undertaker drew laughs, but fighters are trained to throw until the ref pulls them off. Remember Fedor vs Hendo? Fedor went out, but came back swinging the second the ref pulled Henderson off. Had Hendo been a "gentleman" and stopped on his own accord, it could have cost him the fight.

You could argue the contrary, and you'd have a point, but the culture of the sport says throw until the ref jumps in.

I was a little disappointed in Lewis' call out. Overeem? That guy is coming off a loss - he may well retire. The logical match for Lewis is the loser of Miocic/Ngannou. That's the clearest path to the title.

OTOH, maybe Lewis is sincere in not wanting the title, since that would mean five-round fights - which Lewis hates. If the Black Beast wants to cruise out his career on undercards and co-mains, that's his prerogative. Lewis/Overeem would make a great third slot on the card where the new champ at 155 is crowned. The Buddha said that Nirvana was the cessation of desire. If Lewis lacks championship ambition, perhaps that is good for his soul.

That make sense? Or am I just bloviating?

If you slow it down. After the first shot, when Curtis falls he has his thumb up signaling to the ref that he was still OK. lmao

Hey Savosnip3z   Did that training intuition also lead to that 14-16 pick record?

seems like a fair question since it apparently helped you know that Lewis and Li were gonna win? both pretty big underdogs? just trying to see when that tuition kicks in or not? does it only work on guys who are +300 or better?    Serious question. I know it sounds like im being a D Bag but im not. im genuinely curious as to when it kicks in all because you've trained before lol
